An interdisciplinary audio-visual installation from every point a different facet explores the face as a point of entry to the representation of multiplicities that make up the Northwest cultural mosaic. The dynamic and interactive nature of the work becomes a symbolic simulation of both a construction and a discovery our identity. The artwork blends visual anthropology, photography, animation and sound processes to act as eyewitness to the experience of our regional cultural mosaic. Artistic expression is used as a methodology to analyze, synthesize and communicate the multicultural experience. The work is reflective of our contemporary multi-ethnic reality, depicting, almost literally, the metaphor of a cultural mosaic characteristic of the Canadian experiment.
